FALL TRENDS 2023

While some experts say Organic Modern is sooo 2022, I don’t know.  Maybe because that design trend seemed fresh, maybe because we’re at the Pacific Ocean and naturals are always perfect for coastal design, I think it’s sticking around for a while.   

BUT… It’s October and if you’re super checked in to seasonal design trends, fall has arrived.  And with the season comes darker colors, fall colors and even a little spooky vibe.   Earth tones get more saturated.  Fall fashion influences fabric texture and patterns; wool, velvet and plaids feel cozy.   

For those who are ready for a bolder approach, embrace the dark arts; Gothic Glam is having a moment.  Think Dark Shadows’ Collingswood meets 2023 modern glamour.  It is drama on steroids.  And it’s even a perfect pairing with a punch of the 2023 Pantone Color of the Year, Viva Magenta. Moody and opulent it is a great design concept for a bar, lounge, theatre or any space you want to feel encapsulated in quiet luxury.  Literally quiet, this doesn’t seem like a space for loud jubilation or children for that matter.  But I would welcome it in a space to sip a cocktail.  Lighting this space will take some thoughtfulness to highlight the dark tones and refrain from falling into a depressive state.
